Do You Get Stuck in Analysis Paralysis

Do you overthink, write out pros and cons list or reach out for advice from other people when it comes to making decisions big or small? Do you get stuck in the what if's and rarely move forward on anything because you are lost in your thoughts or stay stuck in the thinking and planning phases? If you are like how I used to be - those what if scenarios were never focused on possibility and positive outcomes, but instead what might go wrong. And then one day I decided to flip the script - more specifically to be a more positive one. One rooted in "what is the best thing that could happen". Because guess what? when you focus on that - all of your energy is focused there instead of directing it to all things negative - or simply staying stuck.

Something else I learned about myself along the way? Holding onto the belief that by making a decision and moving forward meant that I couldn’t reverse it or change my mind. And that just simply isn’t true.

When we stay stuck and unable to move forward we waste our energy going in circles instead of breaking the pattern and putting that energy towards the outcome we truly want.

Today's Theme in Action:

What’s something you are going back and forth about, maybe stuck in thinking or planning and dare I say negative what if scenarios? First things first - rip up (and maybe even burn) whatever negative list you wrote or have stored in your mind and replace it with all of the possibilities through the lens of “what’s the best thing that could happen”. Make a decision - one way or another so you can detach your energy from the cycle and pattern that is stuck. Once you do that start to focus all of that energy on the decision you made. I can almost promise you you are going to feel an immediate weight off your shoulder with a giant side order of so much excitement for what is to come.

As always, thanks for choosing to be here.
