Trust Yourself
Remember last week when we highlighted and talked about your Best Qualities. Huh? Need a refresh? Click HERE and then circle back. We highlighted those qualities so that you could bring them to the surface to have at the ready for when you need to rely on them the most. Those moments? Usually when we are in growth mode, and stepping into new territory in the form of: uncomfortable feelings.
Thing is, we’ve told ourselves that uncomfortable feelings equal bad. And it couldn’t be further from the truth. Uncomfortable just means you are doing something new, experiencing something new, trying something new. And we know - that all of that is required if we want to grow and evolve…which is why I assume you are here and reading this - yes? Phew, okay good.
It’s one of the reasons I am SUCH a HUGE advocate of yoga or mindful movement in your body. Much like being in school and experiencing the difference between being taught a lesson and doing the work - same applies here. When you experience mindful movement in your body what happens is you move through uncomfortable thoughts and feelings that rise to the surface. Statements like: you can’t do that, you’re not strong enough, are you crazy - we’ll fall on our face. But then, you do it and you realize you are fine. You can in fact do it all while that subconscious tries to hold you back and keep you small.
Much like an arm balance - at some point you need to trust yourself. That you have the skills, the strength, and most important those qualities you already know to be true about yourself. My suggestion? The next time that subconscious of yours tries to intervene in your growth - tell it to back down, tell it - you’ve got this. Because you do.
As always, thanks for choosing to be here.
