Dread vs. Excitement

Non-Negotiables. The things you do no matter what. Things you don’t de-commit on or break a promise to yourself about. For me, my non-negotiables are always chosen based on what I know will leave me feeling at my best.

Are they a form of goals? Absolutely. But whOh, you know the feeling. The one that so many experience on a Sunday night thinking about having to get up and go to work the next morning. Or maybe when you have to see a certain family member or do something that you said yes to when really it should have been a hard no. And then the flip side to this is we have moments of excitement - that most of us "save up" until the weekend. Not entirely sure why we do this to ourselves. Why we don't incorporate things that excite us and make us feel good mid-week as opposed to only allowing ourselves to feel it two days of the week - but I digress.

Getting back to the "dread" part. Sometimes this will be somewhat out of your control - like someone you have to endure at work (I mean, you could quit - but let's stay on topic) but most of the time - you are in control. It might mean you have to make hard decisions or have tough and honest conversations - but I guess it's up to you. Do you want to live dreading things, or counting down to the exciting moments?

Today's Theme in Action:

What parts of your life to you dread, and what parts make you feel the most excited without any motivation or pep talk required. Do you see a theme?

As always, thanks for choosing to be here.
